2010 will be the second year I've gardened at our home in Northern Virginia. Last year, I did a few veggies and herbs, but this year I plan to do much more. My husband built up a new half-circle raised garden bed, so I'll be working to fill that in! (I'll have to put up pictures later in the year).
I have an outline of the bed drawn up on graph paper. I have a lot more room to plant this year, but I also have a lot more things I want to try, so I'm not quite sure how I'll squeeze everything I want in. It will definitely be a learning experience.
I decided to order a bunch of seeds from Landreth Seeds. I got a copy of their catalog in the mail commemorating "225 Years of Service to America's Farmers & Gardeners". I have to admit, the paper copy of the catalog got me interested in going to their website to order a bunch of seeds! Some of the new things that I plan to plant this year include Easter Egg Radishes, Rhubarb Ruby Red Chard, Clemson Spineless Okra, and Yellow Sweet Spanish Onions. I hope I have a lot of plants work out!
